Email templates component

Overview

In the ticketing module there are email templates for automated communication around orders. As in the event module, you can customize these templates using placeholders and blocks (text, button, image, QR code, divider).

Standard templates

The following templates are predefined and are sent automatically in the respective situations:

  1. Order confirmation (paid) – for paid orders
  2. Order confirmation (free) – for free orders
  3. Payment reminder – for pending payments
  4. Cancellation confirmation (paid) – for already paid orders
  5. Cancellation confirmation (unpaid) – for unpaid orders

You can only customize them; you cannot deactivate them or add additional templates.

Editing

  • Subject, sender, content: You can edit subject, sender and email content with blocks and placeholders – similar to the mailing contents in the event module.
  • Placeholders: Use placeholders to personalize e.g. names, order number or links.
  • Blocks: Text, button, image, QR code and divider are available.

Fields

In each ticketing email template you can configure (among others) the following fields:

  1. Internal reference: Helps you to find the template internally (not shown to recipients).
  2. Subject: Line shown as the subject in recipients’ inbox – you can also use placeholders here.
  3. Sender display name: Name shown as sender in the mailbox (e.g. “Sample conference team”).
  4. Sender email address: Address from which the email is sent (falls back to the organization’s email sending configuration if not set).
  5. Content blocks: Order and content of text, button, image, divider and QR code blocks.
  6. Automatic attachments: Depending on the template, e.g. invoices or tickets are attached automatically (you adjust the accompanying text, not the attachment itself). The default is usually suitable but can be changed.
  7. Additional email attachments: Optionally you can attach additional files (e.g. PDF information). Keep file sizes small so emails do not end up in spam; prefer links instead.

The exact behavior of content blocks matches the mailing contents in the event module; in ticketing only the trigger and context change (order-related instead of event invitation).

Difference to the event module

  • Event module: Invitations, reminders, info mails, thank-you mails – manual or scheduled; used to invite or inform contacts.
  • Ticketing module: Order confirmation, payment reminder, cancellation – automatically triggered by order or payment events; order-related only, no invitations or reminders.

Usage

For invitations, reminders or info mails to contacts, use the mailing templates in the event module. Ticketing templates are solely for order and payment communication.
