Quotas component

Overview

Quotas limit how many tickets can be sold across one or more products. A quota has a maximum (e.g. 100 tickets) and is assigned to one or more products. All products in a quota share the same limit – the purchase of any assigned product counts against the quota.

Without a quota a product can be sold without limit.

Features

Create a quota

  1. Open a ticketing and navigate to Quotas.
  2. Click Add quota.
  3. Enter a name and the maximum number of tickets.
  4. Assign the desired products to the quota.
  5. Save the changes.

Edit a quota

  1. Open the quotas view.
  2. Expand the desired quota card (if collapsed) and adjust name, maximum or product assignment.
  3. Click Save.

Delete a quota

  1. Click the delete icon (trash) on the quota card.
  2. Save the changes.

Fields

Per quota:

  1. Quota name: Name of the quota (required), e.g. “Early bird” or “Workshop seats”.
  2. Maximum tickets: Upper limit of how many tickets in total may be sold via the assigned products (required, at least 1).
  3. Assigned products: Products that use this quota. All assigned products share the same limit – the purchase of any of them reduces the quota. Active products are shown (in light blue) and inactive products (in gray).

At the top of a quota you see a summary: the name of the quota and the maximum number.

Usage

Quotas are useful e.g. for:

  • Limited seats (e.g. workshop with 50 places)
  • Early bird offers (e.g. “Early bird” with 200 tickets)
  • Shared limits for multiple products (e.g. VIP + Standard share a total of 500 seats)

A product can be assigned to multiple quotas – then all limits apply (the smallest limit wins). Without a quota assignment, sales are unlimited.
