On-site monitors

Overview

On-site monitors are displays (e.g. large screens or projectors) at the venue that show the current program or configured slides in real time. Participants can always see what is happening now and what’s next – without needing to open the event website on their phone.

The display is powered by the same data as the event website and the event program. Changes to the program (e.g. times, rooms, program items) are automatically reflected on the monitors.

Features

Set up live program for monitors

  1. Open the event for which you want to use a monitor view.
  2. Ensure the event program is maintained (see Edit event program and Program timetable).
  3. The view intended for on‑site monitors is usually opened via a dedicated URL of the event website (e.g. a subpage like "program-live" or "display"). You can configure the exact URL.
  4. Open this URL on the device (tablet, PC or attached screen) that will be used at the venue – e.g. in a fullscreen browser without toolbars.
  5. The display updates automatically when program times or contents change.

What is displayed?

  • Typically: current and upcoming program items (if the program slide is selected).
  • Optionally, additional slides (image slides) can be configured to rotate with the program view (e.g. sponsors, announcements, partners).

Fields

Depending on design and setup, you have the following configuration options:

  1. Display name: Name of the monitor view (especially needed if you have multiple monitor views).
  2. URL name: Used in the URL.
  3. Active?: Whether the view can be accessed.
  4. Slides: Selection of slide types (program or image slide) and their order.
  5. Duration: How long each slide (e.g. sponsor slides) is shown before switching to the next.
  6. Add slide: Add program slide or image slide.

Usage

On‑site monitors improve navigation on location and reduce the need to constantly check the event website on smartphones. Consistent maintenance of the program and event settings (e.g. time zone, rooms) ensures that monitor displays are always up‑to‑date and easy to understand.
