Networking time slots
Overview
In Networking → Time slots you define when networking meetings can take place.
Each time slot defines a start and end time within which meetings can be booked in the networking system.
Time slots, together with networking locations, form the basis for matching.
Features
List time slots
- Open the desired event.
- Navigate to Networking → Time slots.
- The list shows all existing time slots with:
- Start,
- End,
- Status (active/deactivated),
- Created at.
- By default, entries are sorted by start time ascending.
Create new time slot
- In the list click "Add time slot".
- Choose:
- Start time
- End time
(times are managed in the event time zone).
- Save the time slot.
- The new time slot is then available for new networking meetings.
Edit time slot
- Open an existing time slot from the list.
- Adjust start and/or end if needed (e.g. to extend networking).
- Save the changes.
Note: If meetings already exist in this time slot, changes can affect ongoing planning. Try to make major adjustments before the active networking phase starts.
Delete / deactivate time slot
There is also a safety mechanism here so existing meetings are not accidentally broken:
- Delete if unused
- If the time slot is not referenced by any existing meeting, it can be deleted entirely.
- Deactivate if already used
- If deletion detects that meetings already use this time slot, it:
- is not deleted, but
- marked as deactivated.
- In the UI a hint shows that this time slot is no longer available for new meetings.
- Existing meetings keep their original time slot.
- If deletion detects that meetings already use this time slot, it:
Fields
- Start: Start date and time of the slot (in event time zone).
- End: End date and time of the slot (must be after start).
- Status
- Active: Time slot can be used for new meetings.
- Deactivated: Time slot is no longer used for new meetings but remains for existing ones.
- Created at: When the time slot was created.
- Deactivated hint (only for existing slots): Indicates when a time slot has been deactivated and is no longer available for new meetings.
Usage
- Before the event, create all intended networking phases as time slots (e.g. multiple 15–20 minute slots).
- Combine time slots with enough networking locations to enable sufficient parallel meetings.
- Use deactivation when a slot should no longer be offered later on, without losing historical meeting data.
