Networking properties / filters
Overview
In Networking → Properties / filters you define participant properties / filters that label participants in the public networking frontend.
These properties / filters help participants find suitable conversation partners more quickly. Examples include "Role", "Interest" or "Industry".
Here you define:
- which properties / filters exist (name),
- which description is shown in the networking frontend,
- and in which order the properties / filters are displayed.
Features
View and sort properties / filters
- Open the desired event.
- Navigate to Networking → Properties / filters.
- A list of all existing properties / filters is shown.
- You can adjust the order via drag & drop:
- Properties / filters higher up have higher priority and are usually shown more prominently.
Create new property / filter
- Click "Add property / filter".
- Fill in the following fields:
- Name of property / filter
Short label (e.g. "Investor", "Startup", "Corporate", "Mentor"). - Description (shown in networking list)
Short explanation of what this property / filter means and what it is used for.
- Name of property / filter
- The property / filter is automatically created with a suitable priority (position in the list).
- Save your changes so the properties / filters are available in the public networking frontend.
Edit property / filter
- Click the desired property / filter in the list.
- Adjust name and/or description.
- Save your changes.
Note:
If participants are already linked to this property / filter, the updated name is automatically used everywhere.
Delete property / filter
- Click Delete on the desired property / filter.
- Confirm the safety dialog.
Deleted properties / filters are no longer available for selection and are not shown in future networking runs.
Existing links lose this property / filter.
Fields
- Name of property / filter
- Internal and public short label in the networking frontend.
- Should be expressive but short.
- Description (networking list)
- Short help text shown in the networking people list.
- Explains what the property / filter stands for (e.g. "Founder of an early‑stage startup", "Invests in Seed/Series A").
- Priority
- Managed in the background via the order in the list (1, 2, 3, …).
- Automatically updates when you move, add or remove properties / filters.
Usage
- Plan properties / filters early: Ideally define participant properties / filters before configuring ticketing and registration. This lets you add matching questions in ticketing (single‑ or multi‑select), map them to properties / filters in event sync – and participants can already provide the data during registration.
- Define a clear set of properties / filters before event start that matches your format (e.g. roles, industries, interests).
- Communicate the purpose of properties / filters to participants so they can categorize themselves meaningfully.
- Use ordering to show important properties / filters first (e.g. "Startup", "Investor") so they stand out when browsing contacts.
Note: Properties / filters are only filled with values once event sync maps single‑ or multi‑select questions from ticketing to networking properties / filters.
