Blocks

In ERADIANT many types of content are built using blocks – e.g. on event websites, in mailings or on voting pages. Instead of editing fixed pages, you add blocks, arrange them and adjust their content.

The interaction pattern is very similar across modules.

Block types

Depending on the context different block types are available, for example:

  • Text blocks
    • For body text, headings, lists, links, etc.
  • Image blocks
    • For hero images, logos, illustrations.
  • Button blocks
    • For call-to-action buttons (e.g. “Get ticket now”, “Register”).
  • Divider / layout blocks
    • For visual structuring of the page (spacing, separators).
  • Special blocks (depending on the module)
    • e.g. program teaser, voting questions, result displays.

Which block types are available depends on whether you are editing an event website, a mailing or a voting.

Create, move and delete blocks

Add a new block

  • Typically you find a button like “Add block” or a plus icon below or between existing blocks.
  • There you choose the desired block type (text, image, button, …).

Move blocks

  • Use drag & drop or arrows to move blocks up or down.
  • This allows you to easily adjust the content order (e.g. intro text, then button, then image).

Delete blocks

  • Each block usually has a context menu or delete icon.
  • After a confirmation step the block is removed; the remaining content moves up automatically.

Edit content within a block

Each block has its own fields – for example:

  • Text fields (title, subtitle, body text)
  • Image selection (upload or media library)
  • Links and button labels
  • Colors, alignment, layout options (depending on block type)

Editing usually happens inline or in a side/bottom block panel.
Changes only take effect when you save the entire page.

Blocks on websites

On event websites you use blocks to control, among other things:

  • hero section (hero image, main message, call to action)
  • program preview or highlight sections
  • information about venue, travel, partners
  • sections for images, quotes or logos

The order and combination of blocks determine how the page appears to participants.

Blocks in mailings

In the mailings module blocks are used to:

  • add emphasis in text (subheadings, bullet lists),
  • insert buttons for ticket purchase, program page or networking login,
  • add images or logos,
  • use dividers for better readability.

Important:

  • Mailing blocks are designed to render correctly in as many email clients as possible.
  • Keep texts relatively short and use clear calls to action.

Blocks in votings

For votings you can use blocks for questions. Use a new block for each question (but avoid adding too many questions).

Preview & layout

Many block-based surfaces offer a preview:

  • You can see how the website or mailing looks with the current blocks.
  • This helps you check if order, texts and images work well together.

Depending on the module there are also:

  • layout options,
  • settings for spacing and backgrounds,
  • central design presets (colors, fonts) that are automatically applied to blocks.

Best practices

  • Structure clearly: Prefer multiple short blocks over a single overloaded text block.
  • Build reusable patterns: Design similar pages/newsletters using the same block patterns.
  • Check mobile view: Blocks are responsive – make sure text and buttons are easy to read on small screens.
  • Use few strong calls to action: On each page/mailing, it’s better to have 1–2 clear actions than many small links.
