Key terms

To make ERADIANT as easy to use as possible, we use certain terms with the same meaning everywhere.

Basic terms

  1. Account / user account
    Personal access to ERADIANT for an individual person (email + password).
  2. Organization
    Unit under which events, contacts, mailings etc. are managed (e.g. company, university, project team).
  3. Module
    Larger functional area of the software (e.g. event module, contacts module, voting module, organization module).
  4. Submodule
    Sub-area of a module focusing on a specific topic (e.g. in the event module: events, locations, program tags; in the contacts module: contacts, leads, institutions).
  5. Component
    Clearly delimited area within a submodule that usually corresponds to a view or sub-function (e.g. “event settings”, “program timetable”, “networking meetings”).
  6. Column
    Column within a table or list view (e.g. “Name”, “Status”, “Created at”).

Content & data

  1. Event
    A single event (e.g. conference, trade fair, workshop series) that is managed in ERADIANT with program, website, mailings and networking.
  2. Website
    The entire event website of an event, consisting of one or more pages.
  3. Page
    Individual page within an event website (e.g. “Home”, “Program”, “Registration”, “Floor plan”).
  4. Contact
    Person or organizational unit in the contacts module (e.g. participant, speaker, sponsor, institution).
  5. Lead
    Contact assigned to an event or a sales/recruiting pipeline that is being actively developed (e.g. interested person who has not yet given a final commitment).
  6. Participants
    Contacts that are assigned to an event as participants (e.g. registered visitors, invited guests).
  7. Tag / category
    Label used for categorization (e.g. “Keynote”, “Workshop”, “Networking”, industry or interest tags).
  8. Program item
    Entry in the event program (e.g. talk, panel, workshop, break) that contains time, place, content and speakers.
  9. Networking location
    Physical place for 1:1 networking (e.g. “Networking table 3”, “Lounge”, “Meeting room A”).
  10. Networking time slot
    Time period in which networking meetings can take place (e.g. 10:00–10:20).
  11. Meeting / networking meeting
    Concrete 1:1 appointment between participants that is assigned to a networking location and a networking time slot.

User interface

  1. Block
    Building block on an event website page (e.g. text block, image carousel, program list, networking block) or in mailings (e.g. text, button, QR code).
  2. Filter
    Selection option to narrow down lists/tables by certain criteria (e.g. date, tag, location, tag categories).
  3. Search bar
    Input field for free-text search (e.g. in program items, contacts or networking participants).
  4. Dialog / modal
    Overlay window for details, actions or settings (e.g. filter dialog, share dialog).
