Potential Duplicate Contacts

Overview

You can find this area by opening the Contact Module and clicking on "Potential Duplicates" in the left sidebar.

This submodule lists contacts that may exist more than once in the database. The system automatically detects such duplicates based on similarities in name, email address, or other contact data.

Functions

Viewing duplicates

The overview shows all contact pairs that the system has identified as potential duplicates. For each pair, the relevant fields are displayed side by side so you can immediately see the similarities.

Resolving duplicates

You can decide whether a pair is actually a duplicate or not:

• Merge: The data of both contacts is combined into one.
• Not a duplicate: You mark the pair as not a duplicate so it no longer appears in the list.

Usage

Check the list of potential duplicates regularly, especially after larger imports. This ensures that your contact database stays clean and consistent.
