Questions

Overview

You find this section when you open a vote and scroll to the middle area “Questions”.
Here you define the questions of a vote, choose the question types and control the order in which they are shown to voters.

Functions

Questions overview

In the overview you see all questions of the vote in the exact order in which they are shown to voters.
You can move questions up or down to change the order.
At the end of the list you find a plus icon to add new questions.

Create a question

  1. Click the plus icon between questions (or at the beginning/end of the list).
  2. Enter a question title.
  3. Choose a question type (free text, ranking or candidates).
  4. Fill in the required fields (depending on the question type).
  5. The question is saved automatically when you save the vote.

Edit a question

  1. Click the question you want to edit.
  2. Change the information you need to adjust.
  3. The changes are saved automatically when you save the vote.

Delete a question

  1. Click the question you want to delete.
  2. Click the delete icon.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.

Reorder questions

  1. Click the arrow icons (up/down) on the question.
  2. The question is moved up or down in the order.

Question types

Free text

Voters can enter a free text answer.

  • Title: The question text (required).
  • Description: Optional description shown below the question.

Ranking

Voters can rank candidates in an order of preference.
The result is calculated using the Schulze method (a Condorcet-compliant ranking method).

  • Title: The question text (required).
  • Description: Optional description.
  • Candidates: The candidates that voters will rank.

Candidates (candidate approval)

For this type, voters can cast yes/no votes for each candidate and specify how many votes they want to give.

  • Title: The question text (required).
  • Description: Optional description.
  • Candidates: The list of candidates.
  • Yes votes: Maximum number of yes votes that can be given in total per vote.
  • Yes votes per candidate: Maximum number of yes votes that can be given to a single candidate.
  • No votes: Maximum number of no votes that can be given in total per vote (normally 0).
  • No votes per candidate: Maximum number of no votes that can be given to a single candidate.
  • Randomize order: If enabled, candidates are shown in a random order to voters.
  • Show vote distribution: If enabled, the detailed distribution of votes is shown in the evaluation.
